A couple of times I've put the story away for a weeks. Sometimes I may start something else. Most of the time, just sitting down and typing works it out for me.

 

My God, Jayney, I just bet you make a FANTASTIC cup of tea!

I love tea (with milk and sugar) and drink it all the time. I'm afraid, as an American, I use a teabag (Lipton orange peakoe only) and make it by the cup. But my grandmother, from Scotland, taught me many years ago to boil the water and rince the pot and add loose tea and pour in the water and then put the milk and the sugar in the cup first and then add the boiling water.

Pity the poor tea drinker over here who goes to a restaurant and orders tea after dinner and gets a metal pot with hot water from the tap and some off brand tea bag that's already wet (from something) and then you poor your tepid water over the bag and foam forms on the top and there's only a plastic container of warm half n half to add and, when you ask for more tea, you just get more tepid tap water.

Make me some tea Jayney and put it in the post for me!

 

I've been very lucky that my local market now carries PG Tips from England. Once you taste that, you'll never go back to Lipton.

I am always happy to oblige a ban if one is unable to prevent themselves from returning without creating a new identity.

HOWEVER, merely banning you will not accomplish your ultimate desire. When banned, you become banned but your identity does not disappear; your stories will not disappear. You simply become unable to log in as that identity. After that point, it cannot be proved 100% that anyone making a request to delete stories (etc.) is the author and the request will likely be less considered.

I'm sorry that you're feeling abandoned ... and that others are feeling abandoned. Nophest does visit occasionally and I'm fairly sure he'll take note of the messages we've left for him.

I just read your story and thought it was GREAT! Here, for once, a poor guy gets what he wants in the end. It was a romantic story and I liked that too. You did a great job with this.

It's too bad you didn't allow comments because, I think, you'd have gotten a lot of nice ones.

Oh, I am not planning on asking to be banned.

I am merely considering the idea of posting my request to the forum, as the site's Contact Us page helpfully advises. In the interest of making the request more visible.

My remark simply echoes the sentiments of many others here: that in this place, where absolutely everything short of statutory illegality goes, it would be a cruel irony, if I were to draw a ban just from doing as the forum advises.

But, I am on the fence as to whether I will do that. Some of the contributors on this site are making heroic attempts to keep it together. DonB is still writing reviews, despite the childish mockery that he has to endure, by some, for his efforts. Ejls is holding another contest, and people appear to be responding. People are expending effort to restore this place to whatever passes for normal here. That is why I have not made my request public.

Of course, irony of ironies, you have made it public for me. Thanks for that. It does make things easier. And, should I elect to escalate, I will take your good advice, and do so with an aesexual pseudonym.

Well, I posted "The Accident" on the story site. It was validated yesterday and then made the top five with over a 95% rating and three very flattering comments. I was (as you might imagine) feeling quite proud of what I had written but then... kaboom!... six quick negative votes and storyland oblivion. Well... so be it. It was good while it lasted and I stood on the deck and went down with it.

xnxx is manipulating the votes

There are some patterns here and they aren't the footprints of trolls.

A number of authors have commented how negatives often come in batches of 4 and I've seen this also.
If anyone cares to watch the top rated of all time (and probably no-one will care to) you'll see that the % of the top rated stories stay the same for a few days the ALL go down by roughly the same amount at the same time.

I've commented before how sometimes negative votes get deleted sometimes and other times not included in the calculations.

So, when we get sent to the backwater of the dreaded unread and unloved by a series of negative votes, it may not be the trolls at play. Might be xnxx having some fun.

 

I can't remember who said it but - votes from LOGGED IN readers count as FOUR votes, and unlogged one vote. I saw this was the case in my story - I disallowed unlogged votes, and could see the list of voters. Just one negative vote sent mine plummeting into obscurity.

In future, only allow logged votes and see what happens.....

Since I posted the link here, I got four more negatives and "The Accident" is down to less than 75%. Well, this isn't surprising because, after all, I'm up against such classic epics as "Gang Fuck Toy" and "My Little Sister Eats Pussy". How can anyone be expected to compete with that?

Yes. Fixed it for you MT Batches of 4 because each logged in vote counts as 4.

In essence you are correct about the logged in votes. Unlogged count as 5% of a logged in vote. i.e. Logged in vote=100% Unlogged vote=5% or .05% of 100%.

Now if your negative votes come on some odd number it is more likely a few unlogged voters voting negative on your story, thus the wrongly tallied total But I don't know much more than that because it isn't my system to study and examine so closely. I do wish the negative vote option would be eliminated entirely.

 

As I have said before, I am so very saddened by what has happened to our friend. The fact that the admins don't seem to care is driving me into a deep depression. I know, nickle-dime shit in the big sceme of things, but this crap is happening to a living, breating, warm, loving woman and that must not be allowed to stand.

Freedom of speech is a wonderful thing, but this is wrong.

 

Don, please don't let it bother you. I'll handle it, one way or another. Right now, I'm getting the information out in the open. I have the files to back me up, if they try to dispute what I've said. What's the worst that can happen - they ban me? That's a laugh, now isn't it.
