We enjoyed this quiche. I wasn't sure how much a dash of hot sauce was. I used green pepper Chalula's. It is cakey compared to other quiche, but we liked it.
This was easy and great. I used it as a pantry meal or I would have followed the directions exactly. I subbed the oregano with fresh thyme and I only had one can of paste. I used a can of fire roasted tomatoes in place of fresh and used fresh mushrooms. I added a little water to make it not so thick. It gave us an extra meal for the week!
I made this all the time about 30 years ago when I first started cooking. It is almost the exact same recipe as it used to be, except back then the soup mix and the soup were put on top of the roast. I always used pork roast, which I did tonight also.
I fried the bacon a little before I used it. I wish I would have had some of that paper thin bacon that gets sold now. It would have worked much better. I couldn't get the brown sugar to really melt too much. It kind of just turned crunchy. The ones in the video looked great, but mine didn't turn out as good.
I thought this was great because it's so much easier and faster than making them in the skillet. A person could doctor these up however they are wanted. The time seemed spot on.
